$269K+ In Drugs Seized In Undercover Op. In Lancaster: DA

The Lancaster County District Attorney's Office is calling Rashad T. Mateen a "drug dealer" after the drug task force seized approximately $374,000 in drugs, weapons, and US currency from his home, according to an announcement made on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

The 34-year-old had been under investigation since February when the officers executed the search warrant on April 13, the DA's office explained. 

The police seized 155 grams of powder cocaine, 56.5 grams of crack cocaine, 71 pounds of marijuana— a cumulative street value of approximately $269,150, the DA detailed in the release.

An AR-15 rifle, two handguns, $104,690.00 in U.S. currency, and various drug paraphernalia items were also seized, according to the release. 

As part of the investigation into Mateen's activities, an undercover officer and/or a confidential informant "made several controlled purchases of crack cocaine from Mateen" throughout Feb., March, and April, the DA said.

Mateen was charged with four felonies— three for possession with intent to deliver and one for possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the DA. and confirmed by court documents. 

He has been held on $1 million bond after arraignment by Magisterial District Judge Mary Sponaugle and his formal arraignment has been scheduled for May 12 at 9 a.m., according to his court docket.
